Blooming Sparrow is named for the blooming transition of a mother growing through change. And also for the way that sparrows help one another. The smallest of birds live in communities and because of this they can scare away larger birds of prey or help with feeding and homemaking. They are a great example of coming together to strengthen the smallest or weakest among us.

As a homebirth baby myself i knew what birth i wanted. I read, studied, and took classes to prepare for birth. I had a wonderful natural birth with a baby born in the caul in the water; a sign of good luck! And yet i found myself very unprepared for postpartum care for myself!

Because of that experience i became obsessed with learning about the best postpartum practices across the world throughout all time.

I was trained and worked as a postpartum doula, learned placenta encapsulation, i even did 10 months as a midwifery apprentice, and created my own birth classes for freebirthers.
