Meet Shayna
Care for the mother, not just the moment.
Pregnancy gets a lot of attention. Then the baby arrives—and suddenly the mother is expected to figure out recovery, feeding, sleep, and newborn care all at once. Blooming Sparrow exists for that gap.
I’m Shayna. I bring years of hands-on experience with postpartum care, newborn care, breastfeeding support, pregnancy loss, placenta encapsulation, and childbirth education. My own experiences as a mother led me to study how women have been supported through pregnancy and postpartum across cultures and generations.
My goal is to help you feel informed, cared for, rested, and more confident in your own choices—not to tell you there is only one right way to do motherhood.
Why Blooming Sparrow?
Strong enough to fly. Wise enough to rest.
I’ve always been a do-it-yourself kind of person, and I believe women are remarkably capable. But strength doesn’t mean doing everything alone.
Postpartum is one of those seasons when even strong, independent women need to be cared for. It’s a time for family, friends, and community to gather around a mother while she heals, rests, learns her baby, and finds her footing again.
That’s why I chose the sparrow. Sparrows are small, but they thrive in community. Together, they can protect one another and stand up to something much larger than themselves.
And that’s why Blooming Sparrow has one bird flying and one bird resting. There are seasons to stretch our wings and do hard things ourselves—and seasons when strength looks like allowing ourselves to rest and be cared for.
Both are part of blooming.
